FOG North Finder Module for Autonomous Navigation and Inertial Alignment
The FOG North Finder is an advanced north-seeking instrument that determines true north without magnetic interference. Utilizing a fiber optic gyroscope to measure the Earth's rotation rate, it calculates azimuth and attitude angles with exceptional stability and speed.
This all-in-one electromechanical system combines a FOG sensor, precision accelerometer, servo rotation control, and embedded computer. It achieves north-seeking accuracy of ≤0.3° (NF701A) and ≤0.5° (NF701B), with setup completed in under 3 minutes.
Weighing less than 2 kg with power consumption of only 15 W, the compact unit is ideal for field applications in UAVs, land vehicles, and marine navigation. The device operates reliably from -40°C to +70°C, powered by DC 12-24 V, and communicates via RS-422 interface.
